011 [video/action]

[It's sometime midday when Rika turns the Gear on, and faces the camera towards herself. She's currently sitting down on the trail right outside of Goldenrod, coming back from a training session with her team.] Mii. Training really is a lot of fun. It's a great way to spend time with all of my pokémon. [She grins as a Ninetails nuzzles against her face.] Ah, that's right! Hope has finally evolved. She's become very strong, and I decided that it was time for her to evolve, and now she's gotten even stronger. [Rika pats the Ninetails on the head.] I'm very proud of her.

[There's a small pause before Rika smiles again.] As of today, I have a new member on my team! [She puts the Gear down for a moment as she releases a pokémon. Once she picks it back up, Rika now has a Bulbasaur in her lap.] I'm not exactly sure what to name him yet, but I know that I will come up with a good name! Nipaa!

I've noticed that so many people seem to have really interesting names for their pokémon. How do you decide what to name your pokémon?

Congratulations! Your team must be quite powerful by now. Have you had Hope for a long time?

Let's see. I named my Clefairy after my wife, my Banette after one of my swords, and my Butterfree and my Growlithe after two spells from my world. Nothing very original, I'm afraid.

Thank you. Yes, I have had her for a long time.

I wouldn't say that! Those things mean a lot to you, right?

oh whoops this is video ;;

Would you happen to know a person named Lady Bernkastel?

It feels nice, seeing them evolve and become stronger. Like raising a child, somewhat.

They do. I suppose you could say I gave them these names to feel just a little closer to my home.

[Rika's silent for a moment, debating whether or not to tell her.]

... I do.

You're right. They begin to feel like family after a while.

Has it helped?

... Are you two twins? [Because that's the only thing she can think of.]

I don't think so.

Congratulations, Furude.

I name mine after French poets and authors. Penthesilea and Artemisia, however, have names that originate from a different source.

I always did want to have many children.

A little. I still miss it, of course, but their presence always fills me with joy.

That's a good question. I'm not sure of that myself.

Thank you very much, Mitsuru.

Mii? What is their source?

... I see.

But to answer your question, I named them after familiar beings.

[Rika smiles.] At least it feels like you have them now.

I'm glad it does.

They are named after my Personas.

They do act like siblings, squabbles included.

What about you? How did you choose the names of your previous Pokémon?

[identity profile] wantnotneed.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
I guess you would call them demons.

[identity profile] complexrestart.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
I see. Why did you name your team after them?

[identity profile] complexrestart.livejournal.com 2010-11-25 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Most of them are named after things that are important to me, like Hope. Others are named things that I felt suited their personalities. One of my pokémon, Hanyuu, is named after someone very important to me.
