[Rika is not amused. At all. The way she is currently presenting herself seems to be completely different than in the past. She means serious business.] Whoever is responsible for this is going to pay. [And she is quite sure of who it is.] I do not appreciate something like this happening in a world that is meant to be peaceful, and I will do what I can to make sure it is stopped.

Therefore, I will be investigating this, since it seems to be coming from outside of Violet City, judging from the direction the crystal is growing. Due to the negative effect that this is having on the environment, I would not be surprised if something similar was going on with the pokémon in the general area.

If you would like to accompany me, meet me at the Center. Make sure your team is well rested and prepared for battle.

Yes. Something seems to tell me that this is not natural, however. I have a feeling that this has been caused by humans.

Once again, the locals seems to be just as surprised at this event as we are.

If it was caused by humans, than who...?

...That's what I'm not completely sure about. I know that this could not have been accomplished by one person. It has to be a group.

I fail to see what goals they were trying to accomplish by causing mass panic.

It may be possible that the panic is only a distraction from what they're trying to accomplish.

That still leave their true motives up to question-- [she shakes her head] Standing here will accomplish nothing. Shall I meet you on the edge of Violet City, Furude?

[and the feed cuts out]

[In the meantime, Rika is making her way to the outskirts of town.]

[Mitsuru is as well, her Butterfree flapping behind her as she does so]

[She looks at her two pokémon carefully, making sure that they're ready for this task. They both look back at her, ready to fight. She can't help but smile at them.] Thank you. We will not be fighting alone, though. Mitsuru will be joining us soon.

[as she reaches the outskirts of Violet, she sees the familiar splash of blue hair that belongs to Rika]

Furude! [she calls out to her, breaking out into a brisk walk] Are you all right?

[At Mitsuru's voice, Rika turns around.] I'm doing fine. How are you doing?

I'm well. Are you fully prepared?

I am. My pokémon and I are ready for battle!

Then let's-- [but before she can finish a nice swarm of Unown suddenly BARRELS toward them]

[Rika is momentarily caught off guard.] Hope, use Tail Whip to weaken them a little!

[Mitsuru falls into the groove of battle easily] Artemisia, Gust!

[and her Butterfree immediately flaps her wings to send the Unown Rika weakened flying]

[Rika then focuses her attention on another Unown.] Guardian, use Astonish! [The Drifloon shouts loudly, causing the Unown to flinch.]

[Mitsuru does likewise, tossing her Seel's pokeball into the air to call her forward]

Penthesilea, come forth! Execute them!

['execute' has become just as good of a command as an attack name, and Seel immediately responds by shooting a series of ice shard at the Unown]

[It seems that the strategy of weakening and attacking is working, so Rika decides to continue this approach.] Hope, weaken them again! Use Tail Whip!

[they make an excellent team! \o\ Mitsuru orders her Butterfree and Seel to attack the Pokemon that are weakened by Rika]

[Rika continues to weaken the incoming Unown.]

... They keep appearing!

Then we just keep on fighting! [Mitsuru is used to fending off an endless assault. She fought Shadows on a nightly basis back at her home world, after all]

All right! [So she continued weakening them.]
