[Rika is not amused. At all. The way she is currently presenting herself seems to be completely different than in the past. She means serious business.] Whoever is responsible for this is going to pay. [And she is quite sure of who it is.] I do not appreciate something like this happening in a world that is meant to be peaceful, and I will do what I can to make sure it is stopped.

Therefore, I will be investigating this, since it seems to be coming from outside of Violet City, judging from the direction the crystal is growing. Due to the negative effect that this is having on the environment, I would not be surprised if something similar was going on with the pokémon in the general area.

Haaa... I doubt it. *He gives one a glance as they pass it by.* If anything, it will just make navigating this place more confusing... Though it does look like they go deeper down, instead of just forward.

Hmm... Do you think deeper down is where we should be going?

Unfortunately, I don't have any real experience with exploring ancient ruins, so... Our goal could be anywhere, really. If we look at it from a video game stand point though, deeper down is usually the right answer.

Then let's start heading that way!

*backpedaling a bit to the last path down he walked by, staring down at the... crystal stairs.*

... how can something look that pretty, yet still give off such an ominous feeling...?

[She laughs a little.] It looks almost as if it were intentional.

...Should we go down this path?

Mm... Well, if we want to go down instead of forward, aside from being crystal, this staircase looks safe enough...

Alright. Let's go. [She begins to walk carefully down the staircase.]

*He shall be following along behind, ready to make a grab for her in case any sudden shifts or slip-ups occur.*

[They continue down the staircase as it winds further into the Ruins. After what seems like forever, Rika can finally see the end of it.] It looks like we've finally reached the bottom.

--ah! Really? Does it look like more of the same, or...?

It looks like the above level, except with more crystal. [She stands at the bottom of the staircase, looking at the path ahead for a few seconds.] There also seem to be no new crystals forming here.

--eh? That should be a good sign, right?

I'd hope so. It probably means that we've gotten much closer to the source.

Hopefully the source isn't violent...

I hope so too. [She advances regardless.]

[After a surprisingly short walk, they reach the end of the path, which seems to lead into a separate room.] Hmm... how interesting.

--eh? Did you find something, Rika-san?

It looks like there's an entirely separate room back there.

Really? Does it look like someone-- or something has been in there recently?

I believe so. It looks like it's been a short time, at least. Maybe only a few days.

Hmm... So, there's a good chance someone intentionally caused this...
