[There's a shot of Rika walking down the streets of Violet City as she carries an egg. The camera is a bit shaky since the cameraman is a Drifloon currently floating around its trainer. She looks up at the Drifloon.]

... I wonder when he's going to hatch. [Rika looks back down at the egg again, and it starts wiggling. A lot. So strongly that she's barely able to hold it.] Ah! [The Drifloon takes hold of the egg as Rika takes the Gear from it.] Thank you, Guardian!

[Suddenly, a Mime Jr. emerges! It barrels towards Rika and into her arms, almost knocking her backwards. She manages to keep her balance and hugs the baby pokémon. Rika grins and looks excitedly at the screen as the Drifloon floats behind her happily.] He hatched!

[She giggles.] Isn't he?

Hmmm... I'd like to! I just can't think of anything yet.

Hmm... me neither! But I'm sure something will come up eventually. Nicknaming can be hard at first until you see their personalities and think of something that works.

[Then, directed at the Mime Jr.:] Hey there! Welcome to the world!

Yes! I'm sure it won't be too long before I start seeing what his personality is like.

[The pokémon looks at the screen, tilting its head to the side curiously.]

My name's Juudai! Nice to meet you!

[He winks at the Pokemon in an attempt to be friendly.]

...Well, this is just a video feed, anyway. We'll meet in person eventually, I'm sure. To both of you!

[Mime Jr. now smiles at the scren and waves.] I think he likes you!

[She smiles.] I would very much like to meet you in person.

Where are you now?

I'm in Goldenrod City, but I plan to start heading back in the next few days so I can challenge the gym leader and meet up with some other friends. That'll take a week or two, though.

I may still be here. It seems that my group isn't ready to leave just yet. [And she has an excited smile now.] Also, a friend from my world is almost here.

Who are you meeting up with?

Johan and Kay, hopefully! I also plan to meet up with Maya and Pearl so they can help me with the spirit thing, but I'll be traveling with Johan and Kay, if things work out. And if they don't leave without me.

Johan wouldn't leave you behind. I don't know Kay very well, but I'm sure she wouldn't either.

Yeah, he's my best friend. We knew each other back in our world, and we have a lot in common -- at least, Johan and I did. With Kay, I might as well have known her too, because we get along the same way. And I haven't even known Johan all that long, either, come to think of it... maybe a little over a year by now.

...They better not leave, anyway, or I'm gonna have to hurt them.

[There's no heat to that threat, just a lot of teasing sarcasm.]

The length of time you know someone doesn't necessarily determine your bond with them, does it? I had known Keiichi for a month and we were already close friends.

[She giggles.] If they try to, I'll hurt them for you if you're not here!

Nah, definitely not. I always feel like I've known Johan for a lot longer, but I can't explain it at all. I kinda feel the same way with Kay, too, but a little bit different. With Johan, when I first met him, it was like we'd met before somehow.

Hahaha, thanks! [Talking really slyly and snarkily here, but there's a lot of affection in his voice.] Best way to get at Kay is to tickle her, by the way. Dunno if it works on Johan, never tried it. But I'm sure if you went up and conked him on the head once or twice, he'd get the message.

Maybe you have. Usually that feeling of having met someone before is correct.

I'll take note of it!

Mmm... I don't doubt it!

Haha, she'll probably try to get revenge on me if she finds out her best-kept secret is out. I found out totally by accident one day, and then Johan found out later, and we completely ambushed her! And now I'm telling you... hahaha, oh man. She's gonna beat me up, definitely.

[And yet he still can't help but wear that shit-eating grin that says he'll take it in the name of friendship and rainbows.]

[She can't help but laugh.] You always have to find their ultimate weakness though! It's only necessary in case you have to get something from them in the future! It's like a secret weapon!

Oh, definitely, I agree! It's important to know those things about your friends, hehehe.

[He looks fairly proud of himself for this discovery of his. No shame at all, naturally.]

Oh, it really is. I know how to get back at my friend Keiichi when I need to. [There's a mischievous glint in her eyes.]

[He grins slyly.] Haha, so you've got a weakness of his, too, huh? Make sure you keep yours safe from anyone else, though!

I do, and I'm not afraid to use it against him!

Oh, I will. I have it guarded under lock and key!

Careful with that key, then! You never know who'll try and trick you into spilling something.

[A smug smile -- THAT IS NOT SUGGESTING ANYTHING AT ALL, REALLY!]

Oh, don't worry. I keep it closely guarded. I hope you keep yours guarded too.

[OH, IT'S ON NOW.]

Yeah, of course! My lips are completely sealed.

[IT IS SO ON.]

Hmmm, are you sure? There are ways I could find out other than you telling me.

[LIKE DONKEY KONG.]

Maybe so, but I don't let down my guard that easily! Not after everything I've been through, hehe!

[She giggles.] I'll find out someday!
