[Rika is in New Bark Town, standing on a porch outside of a house and looking for a better place to seek shelter from the rain.]

It seems to be raining nonstop, and my Vulpix does not like this very much at all. The water is already up to my ankles, and I don't think it would be a good idea to leave this town. I really hope this person does not mind me being on their porch.

[Rika lets out a small sigh.] Mii... Also, I don't seem to be anywhere near Hinamizawa...

Aside from my partner, it's just me, yeah... If someone from back home was here, they'd probably have contacted me by now.

What is your partner's name? [Rika looks at the Growlithe and smiles at it.]

I've been lucky so far and I was contacted by Rena. She is a very good friend of mine back in Hinamizawa, so I was very glad to see her.

Hmm... I think I've settled on Hinagiku. *looking down to her and she makes a 'Rowr!' in acknowledgement*

Ehhh... That is lucky! It's good that she contacted you so soon. Do you know if she's nearby?

I like that name! I think it suits her quite well. [Rika looks at Hinagiku, and smiles at her approval of her name.]

Actually, I do not. However, I am happy just knowing that she is here.

*chuckle* I think so too. I'm sure she'll live up to her namesake in full.

Ahh... If you want, I'd be willing to help you meet up with her once the rain dies down.

I believe she will too! Fight on, Hinagiku and Hayate! [Rika puts her fist in the air enthusiastically.]

Oh, and I believe that I never told you my name. [Rika smiles broadly.] I'm Rika Furude.

*giving a little fist pump himself* Right, we'll plow right on through-- once we get the chance...!

Aha, don't mention it, Rika-san. It'll be nice to have someone to travel with for a while once we all get the opportunity start going.

So far though, it looks like that chance won't be for a while. [Rika frowns slightly at the rain, then smiles once she turns back towards Hayate.]

Yes! I believe that it will be much easier to travel with someone else.

Mm. That's a definite on both counts... I just hope those of us who are stuck here don't start going stir crazy.

I hope so too. Hopefully, the rain will let up before there's a chance for that though.

I think what's wrong is that my Vulpix can feel that I don't like the rain very much.

[Rika looks over at Vulpix, who watches her carefully. Rika smiles before patting the Vulpix on the head.] Worries go away! There's no need to be worrying about me, Vulpix. [Rika's smile broadens as she notices that the Pokémon has calmed down slightly.]

Heh... I'll be doing my best from now on, since it's apparently I'm here to do.

Mm. How about we talk about something you enjoy? What were you favorite things to do back home?

Well, my friends and I were all in a club together. We'd play card games, tag, and have competitions at festivals. Whoever was the loser would get a pentaly game. It was my most favorite thing to do.

Heeeh... That must have been a fun club. I take it a penalty game is exactly what it sounds like?

Yep! The pentaly games vary, one can be dressing up in an embarrassing costume or being written on with a permanent marker.

Geh... Embarrassing costumes, huh... That's definitely a penalty alright.

I most definitely is! Luckily, I don't lose very often.
