[It's sometime midday when Rika turns the Gear on, and faces the camera towards herself. She's currently sitting down on the trail right outside of Goldenrod, coming back from a training session with her team.] Mii. Training really is a lot of fun. It's a great way to spend time with all of my pokémon. [She grins as a Ninetails nuzzles against her face.] Ah, that's right! Hope has finally evolved. She's become very strong, and I decided that it was time for her to evolve, and now she's gotten even stronger. [Rika pats the Ninetails on the head.] I'm very proud of her.

[There's a small pause before Rika smiles again.] As of today, I have a new member on my team! [She puts the Gear down for a moment as she releases a pokémon. Once she picks it back up, Rika now has a Bulbasaur in her lap.] I'm not exactly sure what to name him yet, but I know that I will come up with a good name! Nipaa!

I've noticed that so many people seem to have really interesting names for their pokémon. How do you decide what to name your pokémon?

Ah, I'm Rika Furude!

Cecil Harvey. [He bows elegantly.] It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Rika.

[She smiles.] It's very nice to meet you as well, Cecil.

That city is Goldenrod, is it not? How do you like it?

It is! I really like it. It's very busy and there are a lot of things to do.

What town are you currently in?

It must be hard to feel bored there.

Violet. I've been here for nearly a month, and I spent two months in Cherrygrove before that. I really hope my group will move on quickly next time. I could navigate either one of them with my eyes closed.

It sounds like your group likes to take their time.

There are nearly ten of us, and we all arrived at different times. That makes getting badges and training together complicated.

Mii... I bet it does. I can't imagine having that many people traveling together in one group.

Most of us had travelled together before, so we naturally gravitated toward each other. But my group at home was even larger; there were over twenty of us.

Mii... That's a lot.

So, everyone in your traveling group is from the same world?

Actually, no one is from the same world. But all of our homes ended up connected by a war between gods, and we managed to meet and team up in the Void, until we found a way to return home.

Wow. I've never heard of anything like that happening.

Problems that are completely absent in some worlds are omnipresent in others. I suppose that means your world is lucky enough to avoid godly wars and the destruction they cause.

That's true. One world is vastly different from the next.

... I suppose. My world isn't exactly what you would call peaceful though.

Technology, politics, fauna... The differences can be so great, it almost makes me dizzy.

Was it because of war? A dangerous environment? Or something else?

Hmm, I suppose you could say it was a war. Although, probably not the kind you are used to.

The sort of war where you cannot see a soldier in front of you, knowing he is the enemy?

[He's right on.]

... Yes.

...I guess perfectly happy worlds are hard to find, even without monsters haunting them. Though at least most wars end, one day.

Yes, I think that they're almost impossible to find.

[Rika nods.] You're right. It may take some work, but they do end.

Besides, what is 'perfectly happy' for someone could be terrible for another.

Hopefully with as little bloodshed as possible. Wherever there is violence, innocents are the ones who suffer the most.
