[It's sometime midday when Rika turns the Gear on, and faces the camera towards herself. She's currently sitting down on the trail right outside of Goldenrod, coming back from a training session with her team.] Mii. Training really is a lot of fun. It's a great way to spend time with all of my pokémon. [She grins as a Ninetails nuzzles against her face.] Ah, that's right! Hope has finally evolved. She's become very strong, and I decided that it was time for her to evolve, and now she's gotten even stronger. [Rika pats the Ninetails on the head.] I'm very proud of her.

[There's a small pause before Rika smiles again.] As of today, I have a new member on my team! [She puts the Gear down for a moment as she releases a pokémon. Once she picks it back up, Rika now has a Bulbasaur in her lap.] I'm not exactly sure what to name him yet, but I know that I will come up with a good name! Nipaa!

I've noticed that so many people seem to have really interesting names for their pokémon. How do you decide what to name your pokémon?

Nah, it's not an all bad break I guess.

Not what I'd choose to do, but since I don't have a choice, then yeah, this place is probably the best of those.

After all, we could have ended up somewhere dangerous.

[Small chuckle.]

Supposedly I was somewhere dangerous. Hell, the next place I wanted to go is supposed to be a hundred times worse. Or so they say.

Still, that many kids winding up someplace like that would be bad.

Mii... It would. Hopefully there would have been people to protect them.

Well, not on the Grand Line and New World anyway, yes. It's a dangerous place.

Did you live in either of those places?

More recently. I was hoping to go to the New World anyway. It's where Mugiwara will be going next.

For about half a year I've been on the Grand Line though.

... That does not sound very pleasant. Do you have anywhere you can call home?

My ship. Before that I was stationed at Loguetown for several years however. And I've got some close people there. My niece sort of god-daughter is there.

You have a god-daughter?

Pretty much. Like an adopted niece. She's the daughter of one my best snipers before he retired to spend more time with her. I'm quite fond of her. [Enough that he can even admit it.]

It's nice to have someone you think of as family.

Yeah, I guess so.

They're someone you can always rely on.

Definitely.

Do you have any other family?

Just close friends really. I guess you could consider Hina a bossy older sister. Even though she's younger.

I feel that way about several people as well.

Yeah? Anyone in particular you have in mind there?

My friend Satoko is like my family. My traveling group here is also like my family.

It's a nice thing to have.
